By installing or using PesaScope, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the app.

What PesaScope is
PesaScope is a personal, independent Android app that reads M-Pesa SMS messages on your device and organizes them into transactions, budgets, and reports. It is not made, endorsed, or operated by Safaricom or M-Pesa. It simply reads messages that M-Pesa's own systems already send to your phone.

Accuracy & no financial advice
Message parsing, auto-categorization, and totals are generated automatically and may occasionally be incomplete or wrong — for example if M-Pesa changes its message format, or a message is edited or forwarded. Always cross-check important figures against your official M-Pesa statement.
Nothing in PesaScope — budgets, categories, reports, or otherwise — constitutes financial advice. It's a tracking tool, not a financial advisor.

Your responsibility
You're responsible for the financial decisions you make using PesaScope, for keeping your device secure, and for backing up any exported files you want to keep — deleting the app or its data is permanent, since nothing is stored elsewhere.

No warranty, limited liability
PesaScope is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, as a personal project maintained in the developer's spare time. To the extent permitted by law, the developer isn't liable for losses or damages arising from your use of the app, including decisions made based on inaccurate parsing or categorization.

Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the update will be posted here with a new effective date. Continuing to use PesaScope after a change means you accept the updated terms.
